Dave Atkinson was a long-time board member and past president of the International Society for Ion Mobility Spectrometry (ISIMS), and a top trustee of the TED and CED Scientific Workshops series. He was a driving force behind improving accessibility for students in attending the ISIMS conferences and conferences organized by the Scientific Workshops. The Dr. David A. Atkinson Memorial Endowment and Student Scholarship Fund is created to honor and carry out the legacy of Dave. The ISIMS and the Scientific Workshops will jointly oversee sound and careful investment of the endowment fund, with the goal of providing annual student travel awards for attending the ISIMS conferences and the TED and CED conferences of the Scientific Workshops, in the name of our dear friend Dave Atkinson.
