Travel Awards
With the continual support from corporate and individual sponsors, as well as the Dr. David A. Atkinson Memorial Endowment and Student Scholarship Fund, the International Society for Ion Mobility Spectrometry is pleased to offer travel awards to subsidize travel costs in attending the International Conference on Ion Mobility Spectrometry. The goal of these travel awards is to enable students and early career researchers to attend the International Conference on Ion Mobility Spectrometry by offsetting travel costs. This is a student-led initiative with a policy drafted by students for students.

Eligibility
At the time of the conference, applicants must be either a full-time student (enrolled in a Bachelor, Master, PhD, or equivalent program) or an early career researcher. For this award’s purpose, early career researchers are typically candidates within the first three years of their academic postdoc, minus any delays such as parental, family-related, medical and bereavement leave, or delays related to COVID-19. However, everyone in a comparable non-academic position is welcome to apply.
Applicants must be the presenting author of an abstract for an oral or poster presentation submitted with the travel award application. Attendance and presentation by the travel award recipient at the International Conference on Ion Mobility Spectrometry are required for the year that the travel award is granted.
Past travel award recipients may apply again. However, priority will be given to first time applicants meeting all requirements.
Only one applicant per organization may apply for the ISIMS 2025 travel award. If multiple applications from a single organization are received, we will ask the applicants from the organization to withdraw all but one application. Otherwise, multiple applications are considered not eligible. Separate research groups from the same institution are treated as different organizations
Online Application
Please check the box 'Please consider this abstract for a student travel award' in the abstract submission form to apply. If you are not able to access the online form, please contact organizers.
Please have your abstract of either an oral or a poster presentation ready when filling the online application.
Submitted abstracts receiving a travel award will be automatically added to the technical program. Authors of submitted abstracts not receiving a travel award will be contacted by the Technical Program Chair. You do not need to resubmit the abstract. Please submit abstract(s) for any additional presentation(s) by the regular submission deadline [to insert link to abstract web page].
Travel Award Application Review
All eligible applications will be evaluated based on the scientific merit of the submitted abstract.
